Gas furnace heat exchanger

A component located within a gas furnace that is responsible for transferring heat generated by the combustion of fuel (such as natural gas or propane) to the air that circulates through your home. The heat exchanger keeps the combustion gases separate from the indoor air, ensuring that harmful byproducts like carbon monoxide do not enter your living space. As air moves across the exterior of the heat exchanger, it absorbs heat and is then blown through the ductwork to heat your home.

Update: May 2026 Paradise came and serviced my business and home this week per the service agreement I asked them to sign me up for. Excellent trustworthy people and processes yields a top level result. You can trust them too. Call them and see what I mean. From the first phone call, I was impressed, I spoke to Jennifer and on a follow up call, I spoke to Gracie. Both are related to the owner Jonathan who came out today and gave me a breakdown and an idea of what is needed and proposed how to go about doing a mini split, which I’m excited to get done, so much so that I wanted to give a review, even before the work begins which I’m sure will be excellent. He recommended a good brand Mitsubishi and explained why he chooses them, giving a very detailed explanation. Jonathan was very personable and efficient and I look forward to the job being completed and future business with this company.

One of our AC units decided to give up, or so we thought. We had several companies come out and give us a quote to replace our unit, all exceeding $13k. Paradise came out, and instead of just giving a price to replace it, they asked if they could tinker with the equipment. They had it fixed within 10 minutes!!! Paradise gave us a quote so we have an idea of the cost for when this ancient unit ACTUALLY dies, and it was $3k-$8k cheaper than our other quotes!!! They could have easily just given us a price for a new unit like everyone else. I appreciate that Paradise put forth the effort to figure out the problem, and saved us THOUSANDS!!!

Very HONEST! Very knowledgable, an expert. patient, very polite. I got 3 quotes on repairing two small open cracks in the furnace vent pipe. His assessment was identical to another long-standing HVAC company. I have great confidence in Paradise HVAC company!!! The 1st company who quoted said I might need to change my whole furnace and hot water heater system to electric!!!. And also was gonna hire a chimney sweep (at my expense!) to assess my chimney!!! Jonathan of Paradise HVAC just climbed up on the roof three times (necessary) himself and said the chimney flue was in good shape. I trust Paradise completely, but I got the same diagnosis and a much lower estimate from another company. That’s the only reason I didn’t use paradise.

Paradise answered my call late at night and made me an appointment for first thing in the morning and even showed up early. They crawled under my rental house through the dirt and mud to inform me that my landlord had me living in a dangerous environment. He was upfront and honest about everything and let me know the steps I needed to do to get my family out of this situation. I had paradise come out to get me started with their paradise maintenance package, and had them take a look at my attic because we had concerns with our insulation not being adequate. They didn’t try to over sell work I didn’t need, and were honest with what exactly was needed to get us back on track. Techs Jonathan and Matthew came out for the initial inspection and service and came back to do the attic insulation. They were patient and knowledgeable (I ask a lot of questions) and took their time. They found all the places that my system was leaking (out and in) air, fixed them, and then filled the attic. They kept the house clean and were respectful and had great attitudes the entire time. They have definitely earned my business, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for HVAC work.
