Load calculation
Load calculation is the process of determining the heating and cooling requirements for a building to ensure the HVAC system is properly sized for optimal efficiency and comfort. This calculation takes into account various factors, including the size (square footage) of the space, the number and type of windows, the insulation quality, local climate conditions, building orientation, occupancy levels, and heat-producing appliances. It ensures the HVAC system is neither too large (which can cause inefficiency and discomfort) nor too small (which can struggle to maintain desired indoor temperatures). This process is critical for designing a system that provides year-round comfort and energy efficiency.
