Make-Up Air Unit (MAU)

A Make-Up Air Unit (MAU) is an HVAC device specifically designed to bring fresh, conditioned air into a building to replace air that has been expelled or exhausted. Unlike standard ventilation systems, it conditions the incoming air (heating, cooling, humidifying, or dehumidifying it) to maintain indoor air quality and comfort, while also ensuring the pressure balance within the building. These units are often used in spaces like commercial kitchens, manufacturing facilities, and laboratories where large amounts of air are frequently exhausted.

2025 UPDATE: I needed Jonathan service on Friday, April 3rd. I called his office at 6:40. Jonathan arrived at my home by 2 o’clock that afternoon. One of our AC units decided to give up, or so we thought. We had several companies come out and give us a quote to replace our unit, all exceeding $13k. Paradise came out, and instead of just giving a price to replace it, they asked if they could tinker with the equipment. They had it fixed within 10 minutes!!! Paradise gave us a quote so we have an idea of the cost for when this ancient unit ACTUALLY dies, and it was $3k-$8k cheaper than our other quotes!!! From the very cordial and helpful Paradise employee who answered our after-hours, weekend phone call to the technical service provided by Jonathan and Matthew on Monday - we couldn’t be more pleased. We were informed every step of the way via text of all pertinent information including: scheduled appointment time, tech arrival time with the id’s of technicians who would be performing the work. Jonathan and Matthew arrived five minutes earlier than the one hour scheduled window (no no-shows here), did what they had to do and didn’t use weaponry to determine labor costs. In a land where customers have seemingly been disregarded and led to die, the folks of Paradise have obviously seen themselves and decided to do things a different and better way.
