Off-Grid Or Off-The-Grid
An off-grid, or off-the-grid, system refers to an energy system that functions independently of the utility grid. It includes equipment like solar panels, wind turbines, batteries, and inverters to generate, store, and use electricity without relying on external power lines. These systems are often used in remote locations where connecting to the grid is either impossible or too expensive. While being self-sufficient, off-grid systems require careful planning to meet energy needs and are typically more costly to install compared to grid-tied systems.
