Heating coil
A heating coil is a component in an HVAC system used to heat the air that circulates through a building. It typically consists of a series of tubes or loops made from metal, often copper or aluminum, that transfer heat. In electric systems, the coil generates heat when electrical current flows through it, while in hydronic or steam systems, hot water or steam flows through the coil, warming the air blown over it by a fan. Heating coils are commonly found in furnaces, air handlers, or unit heaters, playing a key role in maintaining indoor thermal comfort.
