R-410A Refrigerant

R-410A is a chlorine-free hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerant commonly used in residential and light commercial air conditioning and heat pump systems. It was introduced as an environmentally safer alternative to R-22 because it does not contain ozone-depleting chlorine. Developed and patented by Honeywell in 1991, R-410A operates at higher pressures than R-22, offering improved energy efficiency and better heat transfer. It has become the standard refrigerant for newer HVAC systems due to its lower environmental impact and compliance with regulations phasing out ozone-depleting substances.

We recently bought a home and right away one of the AC units failed. Of course it was after hours (do AC units ever fail not after hours?). I called Paradise Heating and Air and they dispatched quickly, diagnosed the problem, and had us cool and running again before the kids were even in bed. We've been doing a complete renovation of our family home of 30 years to sell and retire. We also needed to make sure we had adequate insulation and have the ductwork inspected. I called Paradise Heating and Air, and found that this was a service they could provide. They were very responsive. I had an estimate within a few days and the job completed the following week. They fixed anything that could become a problem and blew in the amount of insulation to meet the current Hoover building code. Jonathan was so friendly, explained everything that was done and the cost was very reasonable. In fact he talked me out of insulating an area that wasn't really needed!!! One of our AC units decided to give up, or so we thought. We had several companies come out and give us a quote to replace our unit, all exceeding $13k. Paradise came out, and instead of just giving a price to replace it, they asked if they could tinker with the equipment. They had it fixed within 10 minutes!!! Paradise gave us a quote so we have an idea of the cost for when this ancient unit ACTUALLY dies, and it was $3k-$8k cheaper than our other quotes!!!
