A type of heat exchanger used in HVAC systems, specifically as the evaporator coil in an air conditioning or heat pump system. It gets its name because the two slanted coil panels are positioned in a way that forms the shape of the letter “A.” These coils are typically found inside the indoor air handling unit or above the furnace in a central HVAC system. As refrigerant flows through the A-coil during cooling, it absorbs heat from the indoor air, which is blown across the coils by a fan. This process cools the air before it is circulated back into your home.

2025 UPDATE: I needed Jonathan service on Friday, April 3rd. I called his office at 6:40. Jonathan arrived at my home by 2 o’clock that afternoon. From the first phone call, I was impressed, I spoke to Jennifer and on a follow up call, I spoke to Gracie. Both are related to the owner Jonathan who came out today and gave me a breakdown and an idea of what is needed and proposed how to go about doing a mini split, which I’m excited to get done, so much so that I wanted to give a review, even before the work begins which I’m sure will be excellent. We've been doing a complete renovation of our family home of 30 years to sell and retire. We also needed to make sure we had adequate insulation and have the ductwork inspected. I called Paradise Heating and Air, and found that this was a service they could provide. They were very responsive. I had an estimate within a few days and the job completed the following week. They fixed anything that could become a problem and blew in the amount of insulation to meet the current Hoover building code. Jonathan was so friendly, explained everything that was done and the cost was very reasonable. In fact he talked me out of insulating an area that wasn't really needed!!!
