Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER)
Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) is a measurement of how efficiently an air conditioning system operates under specific conditions. It is calculated by dividing the cooling capacity (measured in British Thermal Units or BTUs per hour) by the electrical power input (in watts) needed to achieve that capacity. A higher EER indicates a more energy-efficient system, meaning it provides more cooling while consuming less electricity. EER is typically used to compare the performance of different air conditioning units, especially in fixed conditions.
