MERV Rating

The Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) rating measures how effectively an air filter can trap particles of varying sizes from the air passing through it. Filters are rated on a scale from 1 to 20, with higher numbers indicating greater efficiency. A filter with a higher MERV rating can capture smaller particles, such as dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, and even some bacteria and viruses. However, filters with very high MERV ratings may restrict airflow in some HVAC systems, so selecting the appropriate rating for your system is important.

I was extremely impressed with Paradise Air and am very glad I found them. I have a very old HVAC system they needed some ducts and a condensate pump replaced. They were extremely thorough and clearly explained everything they planned on doing. The price was excellent given how much work they had to do in the crawlspace and the extra time they spent with me advising me on how to get as much out of my old system as I could. They weren’t there to try to sell me a new system. They were there to repair what I asked them to at a reasonable price and help me extend the life of my current system. I won’t even think of calling anyone else from now on.

He explains any issues in detail leaving the decision up to me on whether or not to replace a part. From the very cordial and helpful Paradise employee who answered our after-hours, weekend phone call to the technical service provided by Jonathan and Matthew on Monday - we couldn’t be more pleased. We were informed every step of the way via text of all pertinent information including: scheduled appointment time, tech arrival time with the id’s of technicians who would be performing the work. Jonathan and Matthew arrived five minutes earlier than the one hour scheduled window (no no-shows here), did what they had to do and didn’t use weaponry to determine labor costs. In a land where customers have seemingly been disregarded and led to die, the folks of Paradise have obviously seen themselves and decided to do things a different and better way.
