A Permanent Split Capacitor (PSC) motor is a type of single-phase alternating current (AC) motor commonly used in HVAC systems for fans, blowers, and pumps. It operates at a fixed speed determined by the motor’s winding design and typically uses a single capacitor to improve efficiency and starting torque. While PSC motors are reliable and cost-effective, they are less energy-efficient than newer motor technologies like electronically commutated motors (ECMs) because they lack variable speed control, which can limit their ability to provide optimal comfort and energy savings.

Paradise answered my call late at night and made me an appointment for first thing in the morning and even showed up early. He was upfront and honest about everything and let me know the steps I needed to do to get my family out of this situation. They were extremely thorough and clearly explained everything they planned on doing. One of our AC units decided to give up, or so we thought. We had several companies come out and give us a quote to replace our unit, all exceeding $13k. Paradise came out, and instead of just giving a price to replace it, they asked if they could tinker with the equipment. They had it fixed within 10 minutes!!! Paradise gave us a quote so we have an idea of the cost for when this ancient unit ACTUALLY dies, and it was $3k-$8k cheaper than our other quotes!!!
